Not I But God

Genesis 41 v 16

Not I But God - These are the words spoken by Joseph when he is standing in front of Pharaoh. This was the turning point of Joseph's life. Years in preparation for this exact moment and he understands the most important factor. Anything he did was not by his expertise but God.

This is an attitude of a person God can and will use. I am sure that this is one of the lessons that Joseph had to learn in his years of obscurity and difficulty. Disliked and sold into slavery by his brothers, falsely accused by his masters wife, wrongly imprisoned for a crime he did not commit, let down by his friends and given up for dead by his father.

Some would say God was punishing him for wrong doing but actually God was preparing him for His plan. Broken, melted and moulded he understood that this was not about him but it was about God.

Now God could trust him with influence.
