Growth required

Exodus 1

At least a generation has passed since Israel and his 70 descendants had moved to Egypt to get away from the famine. Joseph and all his brothers had died and now a new Pharaoh ruled. He was scared of the way that the Israeli people were growing so enslaved them. I found v 12 very challenging:

But the more the Egyptians oppressed them, the more the Israelites multiplied and spread, and the more alarmed the Egyptians became.

It reminded me of another account of God's people in the book of Acts. Facing incredible persecution this is what is said about them:

But the believers who were scattered preached the Good News about Jesus wherever they went. Acts 8 v 4

The kingdom is everything.
