Day 3 - Rediscovering the Christmas Season
The silence was deafening—they had been arguing with one another over who among them was greatest. Mark 9 v 33
One question from Jesus was enough to shut up His disciples. It wasn't even a hard question. "What were you talking about?". But it was enough to change their whole perception.
As one who is cursed with the gift of words and opinions unfortunately I have found myself embarrassed by Jesus. I've lost count of the times that I have waxed lyrical about what I thought about a situation or even person in a less than positive way only to find myself struck speechless when my thoughts turned to Jesus.
Suddenly when kneeling before a gracious God and loving saviour my words gain a new context. In mans world servanthood was weakness but in God's world servanthood is greatness.
God help me to realise sooner when my words and actions don't fit in Your Kingdom.
