Livin' It

Ezra 7

Ezra had committed himself to studying the Revelation of God, to living it, and to teaching Israel to live its truths and ways. (v 10)

I love the way that this Ezra is introduced to us in this chapter. "After all this, Ezra." Its as though his name said it all. The way the message puts it is fascinating. Not, Then Ezra arrived, not; Ezra changed this or that but just Ezra. As though summed up in the very name and character was integrity, change, and hope. His name said it all.

I think v 10 give us the reason. Ezra studied God's word and he taught God's word but he also had a reputation of living God's word. Studying and teaching are the easy parts only the hard part of living it out day by day creates the character that shapes a reputation like Ezra.

It’s something that we would all want but we need the discipline and sacrifice to do the right things on the journey. There are no shortcuts on the road to this destination.
