You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. - Genesis 50 v 20
Joseph said these words around the age of 56. Around 39 years after he had been sold into slavery by his own brothers at the age of 17.
Before he saw his brothers again over 20 years would pass. During that time he served as a slave in a foreign country. Accused of cheating with his masters wife. Put in jail. Forgotten by his colleagues. Missed the death of his Grandad.
Finally at the age of 30 after 13 years of misery maybe just maybe he starts to see something start to happen. He finally is reunited with his brothers and father at the age of 39.
Going through the mess I'm not sure how much he understood. I am sure he had doubts. I am sure he got angry at God. I am sure he asked God many questions.
But it would seem that through all the rubbish he stayed faithful and God was able to accomplish His plan through Joseph.
