The real me meets the real you

I am still sad about the news earlier this week of yet another pastor who has messed up morally.

We all need to realise that temptation is real and everyone yes everyone has temptation. Including Pastors. There is nothing new under the sun. My old lecturer Paul Newberry told me over 25 years ago that temptation would come in 3 main areas:

Power, Sex & Money.

He was right then and he is still right today.

We all need to stop hiding behind masks and firstly admit that we have and are facing temptation to someone trusted and close who can stand with us. Someone who really knows you and you interact with very often. Not someone a 100 miles away that can no more hold you accountable that flying air.

Someone you can talk to about your temptation and maybe even sin in the PRESENT tense rather than the PAST PRETENDING tense.

We are in a battle, the battle is common to all and the REAL ME and the REAL YOU can actually help each other.
