I'm running for dear life. Don’t let me down!

God jumped into my world this past weekend when I read Psalm 31. It was something I really needed to hear probably more of a prayer in my heart to God.

1 I run to you, God; I run for dear life. Don’t let me down!
Take me seriously this time!

2 Get down on my level and listen,
and please—no procrastination!
Your granite cave a hiding place,
your high cliff aerie a place of safety.

3 You’re my cave to hide in,
my cliff to climb.
Be my safe leader,
be my true mountain guide.

4 Free me from hidden traps;
I want to hide in you.

5 I’ve put my life in your hands. You won’t drop me, you’ll never let me down.

6 I hate all this silly religion,
but you, God, I trust.

I suppose its at times like these that you find out if its religion you have had or a relationship with Jesus. I know that when your running for your dear life religion wont help but Jesus will.

I was also helped with these quotes from Andy Stanley:

  • “In the midst of uncertainty God is still certain.”
  • “Can you trust God when there is no evidence of His activity in your life?”
  • “God seems to take broken things and do amazing work.”
  • “The greatest things begin in the greatest messes.”
  • “God STILL has the whole world in His hands.”
