Becoming what I already am

Jesus GREW in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and all the people. - Luke 2 v 49

I don't really understand it all but this God-Man Jesus was on a journey of growth. I've sat around with many people and debated subjects like: "When did Jesus know he was God" and the like and to be honest its a bit beyond my understanding.

But the Bible is clear that Jesus grew.

Sometimes our journey of God is a paradox of who we already are in God and what we are becoming.

We are holy but are confronted day after day by our own unholiness.
We are seated in heavenly places with Christ Jesus but catch ourselves living for selfish gain.
We are dead to sin and alive to Christ but still listen to a corpse.
We are a new creation, born again but still need to crucify the flesh.

As finite entities we serve an infinite God. Growth for us will last an eternity. So embrace it with all its challenges, opportunities, uncomfortableness and exhilaration.

Love & gratitude for the devine gift that has arrived in my life drives me on to become what I already am in Christ.

yes... there paradoxes indeed or as I like to say these are we mysteries of our faith which we strive to know but probably never will. Yes...may we continue to grow toward Him and embrace the journey
